Pruning Young Trees for Long Term Structural Development - Paul Thompson, Clemson Extension Service. Pruning allows us to direct and control the growth of plants. Learn how to identify and correct structural problems when trees are young and you can prune with two feet on the ground. Proper pruning in the landscape is important ascetically as well as for the long term health and value of the plant. This program will offer instruction and hands-on opportunity to learn proper pruning techniques for trees and shrubs in the landscape setting.

How to Properly Read a Pesticide Label and More Safety Info - Drew Jeffers, Clemson Extension Service. This program will take attendees step by step through the information provided on a pesticide label and discuss why it isimportant. The speaker will demonstrate the proper use of various safety clothing ( goggles, gloves, etc) needed when using pesticides and the proper mixing and loading of equipment. 1 SC Pesticide Applicator CEU, 1 NC Pesticide Applicator CEU.
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM:
Small Engine Preventative Maintenance, Repair and Safety - Adam Smith, Power Tool Co. While the talk will be specific to STIHL equipment, the principals will be universal. We will discuss the effects of ethanol, maintenance intervals, how toconduct this maintenance, minor repair tips and tricks, proper product use and safety concerns, and conclude with Q&A.
