News from the Clemson University Plant Problem Clinic
By: Meg Williamson, Diagnostician and Manager
The Plant Problem Clinic has existed since the late 70s and its focus has always been to help Extension Agents, growers, landscapers and residential clients solve plant problems of many different types.
In 2018, the Clinic will change its name to Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic. This change is being made to more clearly represent what we do and to portray a more professional image nationally. Early next year, forms will be updated to reflect this change.
If you’re interested in submitting a sample to the Clinic, submission forms can be acquired from our website or from your local County Extension office. In case you’re not familiar with our services, we provide plant disease and pest diagnosis for plants and turf, insect and weed identifications and nematode assay. Integrated pest and disease management recommendations are included for all samples that require them. Cultural and environmental issues are also addressed, when applicable.
We will be at the SC Green Trade Show January 31 - February 2, so you're invited to stop by the Department of Plant Industry booth to inquire about your own plant problems. You're welcome to bring declining plants for an on-the-spot diagnostic opinion at no charge!
